Common Questions
What rate does the Serbian cash rebate pay?
The rebate returns 25% of qualifying Serbian spend, rising to 30% for productions that spend more than €5 million in Serbia. Television commercials qualify at 20%.
When will I receive the cash rebate?
The rebate is paid after production. Once Film Center Serbia and the committee give final approval on your audited cost report, the funds are released within 60 days to a designated account and then transferred to the investor.
Is there a cap on the rebate amount?
There is no fixed per-project cap. The scheme is funded from an annual national budget (around €16.5 million was allocated for the 2025 cycle), so applying early in the funding cycle is recommended.
Are documentaries eligible?
Yes. The rebate covers feature films, TV films and series, documentaries, animation, and audio/visual post-production, alongside special-purpose films and commercials.
Do I need a Serbia production company?
Yes. The applicant must be a legal entity registered in Serbia. Fixers in Serbia can serve as your local production services partner and handle all requirements.
